*Note: this position is located in either our Wayzata, MN office or Downers Grove, IL office*


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regulatory Product and Filing Specialist is responsible for maintaining and preparing filings for all lines of business as needed and communicating with Insurance Departments for regulatory issues.  


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare rate, rule & form filings as respects ongoing and new lines of business
  • Communicate with each State’s Department of Insurance regarding regulatory issues
  • Assist in underwriting compliance and filing issues involving company, rate and coverage form issues
  • Respond to work comp bureau questions and other inquiries
  • Prepare and file NAIC licensing applications for carriers and captives as needed
  • Manage bureau and state insurance department portal access for all agents and employees
  • Manage agent appointments for Benchmark
  • Act as primary SIU/Fraud reporting contact
  • Manage and update policy issuance system with rate and form changes
  • Communicate with internal reporting team regarding filing and reporting requirements
  • Train regulatory staff as needed
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Perform other activities, duties and assignments as needed or requested
  • Maintain consistent presence in the office


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to insurance licensing, TPA licensing, rate filings, and reporting. 
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated underwriting skills in the area of commercial insurance
  • Property and Casualty Producer licensure is highly desired
  • Ability to respond to problems and provide solutions in a dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to present to external parties in a pleasant, professional manner and enhance the appeal and reputation of the organization as a knowledgeable and service-oriented organization   
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Excel & Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage deadlines independently and within a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, specifically with regulatory analysis and reporting


Salary Description
$75,000-$90,000
