Requirements

The Sr. Data Solutions Architect should have a strong data engineering and architecture background to design and guide the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance data-driven solutions. This role sits within the Technology organization but is embedded in the Data Team, playing a central role in shaping solution designs across our products, platforms, and enterprise data assets.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience architecting modern data platforms, driving cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, and client-facing teams, and serving as the technical lead on proposals and delivery efforts. This is a high-impact individual contributor role - with a focus on designing and implemented scalable solutions around data - perfect for someone who blends architectural rigor with a builder’s mindset.

  • Architect and lead the delivery of end-to-end data solutions across cloud-native environments (primarily AWS and Databricks), including ingestion, processing, storage, access, and governance.
  • Define and maintain scalable architecture patterns and reference implementations for common data workflows and platform integrations.
  • Collaborate with product and delivery teams to translate business needs into scalable, sustainable, and secure data architectures.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including solution diagrams, data flow models, and design specifications.
  • Serve as the technical lead during project initiation and discovery - shaping architectures, estimating effort, identifying risks, and guiding implementation strategy.
  • Support Business Development by designing data platform solutions for proposals, RFPs, and client engagements.
  • Ensure alignment of solution architecture with enterprise data strategy, security standards, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST, etc.).
  • Partner with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Software Engineers to guide implementation and ensure architectural consistency.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and technical validation for data-intensive projects and platforms.
  • Provide mentorship and thought leadership across the Data Team, helping to mature our engineering and architectural practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8–10+ years of experience in solution architecture, data engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • Proven ability to architect and lead the implementation of modern data platforms using technologies such as AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, RDS, Redshift, EMR), Databricks, and Spark.
  • Familiarity with structured and unstructured data patterns, including streaming, batch processing, and real-time analytics.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and metadata management.
  • Experience designing secure, scalable APIs and data services to support internal and external consumers.
  • Fluency in architecture documentation and tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Draw.io, sequence/context/data flow diagrams).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead solutioning efforts in a pre-sales or discovery context as needed.
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance and security practices for handling sensitive data, especially in healthcare or government domains.
