We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Building Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. This role is essential in ensuring that our premises are safe, functional, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment for employees and visitors alike. Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance for all City equipment and facilities
- Performs maintenance, repair and replacement work on all sizes and types of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration and related plumbing equipment to keep them in top operating condition
- Troubleshoots electrical systems, motors, controls, energy controllers, pumps, motor starters, etc
- Maintains city pools including chlorine injectors, controls and leak detectors and pumps
- Maintains emergency generators, batteries and controls
- Installs new electrical services as required
- Troubleshoots PA, phone, mobile or portable radios and sound systems
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
- Maintains and repairs city street lighting
- Performs basic rehab work on city facilities
- Programs and troubleshoots Energy Management Systems
- Is available for emergency calls
- Performs other duties as directed
- This is a safety sensitive position

On Call Status: On a regular basis
Percentage of Work Indoors: 60%
Percentage of Work Outdoors: 40%
Physical Work Associated With This Position: Using a personal computer, working outside in weather conditions, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, kneel, and crawl.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or diploma is required, some college or trade school preferred.
- Must have at least three years experience and progressive responsibility in the area of building maintenance and systems repair; five years in the same is preferred.
- Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- EPA license for HVAC, Electrical are a plus
