Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Associate II for a full-time third-shift industrial maintenance opportunity in Bellefontaine, Ohio. The employer is hiring for 3rd shift only and is looking to move qualified candidates through the interview process quickly.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Associate II performs electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs while installing, maintaining, and supporting machinery and equipment used in manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for general, preventive, and predictive maintenance across production equipment and may also support facility maintenance requirements as needed.

This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position requiring strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems. The successful technician must be comfortable working independently, diagnosing unfamiliar equipment, making repair decisions, and returning production machinery to safe and reliable operation with minimal direct supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial production machinery and equipment
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment failures
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and control functions
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems
• Troubleshoot pneumatic systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems
• Install and maintain production machinery and equipment
• Develop and perform scheduled preventive maintenance procedures
• Develop and perform predictive maintenance activities
• Perform general repairs supporting manufacturing operations
• Use electrical and electronic measuring and testing equipment
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Operate drill presses, band saws, side grinders, bench grinders, hydraulic presses, and other maintenance/shop tools
• Perform gas and electric welding
• Perform brazing and cutting
• Read and work from blueprints
• Read maintenance manuals and technical documentation
• Work from drawings, sketches, written instructions, and verbal instructions
• Review unfamiliar equipment and develop an understanding of its mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
• Make independent decisions regarding equipment repairs and maintenance requirements
• Support decisions regarding repair-part purchase and replacement
• Help minimize production downtime and repair-part costs
• Develop proactive solutions to minimize scrap
• Participate in continuous-improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
• Train and develop other maintenance associates
• Assist other maintenance associates in efficiently completing assigned work
• Maintain housekeeping and workplace safety standards
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Follow machine-guarding requirements
• Comply with applicable IATF 16949 and ISO 14001/45001 procedures
• Maintain reliable and acceptable attendance

EDUCATION NOTE: A technical degree is acceptable, but the source JD also allows equivalent education and experience. A candidate with substantial hands-on industrial maintenance experience may qualify without a formal college degree.

PLC NOTE: Candidates must demonstrate actual PLC-related troubleshooting capability. Full PLC programming is not specifically required, but the technician must be able to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and control functions as part of industrial equipment repair.
