San Antonio, TX (Floater Role – All San Antonio Locations)
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM & Rotating Saturday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM


We are seeking a reliable, adaptable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant (Floater) to support our clinical teams across our San Antonio locations. This role requires flexibility to travel between our clinics within San Antonio city limits, including our locations near the Airport, Briggs (South Side), Babcock (Northwest San Antonio), and Stone Oak.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant Floater, you will support both pain management and urgent care services across our San Antonio clinics, ensuring smooth daily operations and consistent patient care. This includes triaging patients, preparing them for procedures, assisting providers during exams and injections, performing clinical testing, and maintaining accurate documentation.

You must be comfortable adapting to different clinic teams, workflows, and patient volumes while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.


Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Room and triage patients; collect and document vitals, medical history, pain assessments, medication lists, and chief complaints
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and necessary equipment
  • Assist providers with in-office procedures, including pain management injections, urgent care treatments, wound care, and splinting
  • Administer injections and perform IV placements if certified
  • Conduct point-of-care testing (strep, flu, urinalysis, glucose, etc.)
  • Perform EKGs and assist with diagnostic workflows

Patient Care & Communication

  • Provide clear instructions regarding treatment plans, procedures, medications, and follow-up care
  • Support triage activities under provider direction
  • Coordinate referrals, imaging orders, and follow-up appointments
  • Deliver a professional, compassionate, and positive patient experience

Documentation & EMR

  • Accurately document clinical notes, treatments, and communications in the EMR
  • Ensure timely completion of charts, orders, and patient updates

Clinic Operations

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas
  • Monitor, track, and restock supplies and medications
  • Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety protocols
  • Support wellness services as needed (vitamin injections, IV therapy if certified)
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (required)
  • Ability and willingness to travel between all San Antonio clinic locations (required)
  • Experience in pain management, urgent care, primary care, orthopedics, or similar clinical setting preferred
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) highly preferred
  • IV certification preferred
  • Proficient with EMR systems
  • Skilled with IM injections; IV insertion skills a plus
  • Strong communication, patient care, and multitasking abilities
  • Highly dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in different clinic environments
