Legal Assistant - Real Estate
Description

We are seeking an organized, dependable, and team-oriented Legal Assistant to support our busy real estate practice. This position plays an important role in opening and maintaining files, processing closing documents, assisting attorneys and other team members, and keeping transactions moving efficiently.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates clearly, manages competing priorities well, and remains calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Open new client and transaction files accurately and promptly.
  • Create, print, organize, and maintain physical and electronic files.
  • Maintain tracking systems for new matters and file assignments.
  • Print title searches and related real estate documents.
  • Distribute files and documents to attorneys for review.
  • Prepare and mail mortgage payoffs, tax payments, and other transaction-related materials.
  • Scan and organize executed closing documents.
  • Send completed document scans to clients and other appropriate parties.
  • Close and transfer completed matters to closed file storage in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Enter and monitor docketing dates, deadlines, and reminders.
  • Communicate regularly with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other members of the team regarding file status and outstanding items.
  • Help maintain positive working relationships and effective communication throughout the department.
  • Assist in locating attorneys or team members when needed while communicating calmly and avoiding unnecessary confusion or concern.
  • Respond professionally to borrowers and other transaction participants when the primary team member is temporarily unavailable.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical assistance as needed to support the team.

  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.


Salary Description
$20 - $23 per hour
