Job Summary
The Rental & Transportation Manager oversees both the rental and transportation departments, ensuring profitability and exceptional customer service. This role entails daily planning and business development to drive growth while maintaining operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and staff management. Understanding the interconnectedness of Rental, Equipment Sales, Parts, and Service is paramount. As the leader, you'll guide a dynamic team dedicated to delivering equipment promptly, exceeding customer expectations through accurate rental agreements, optimized orders, and detailed record-keeping. Additionally, you will oversee transportation operations, including logistics, fleet management, and DOT regulatory compliance.
Key Job Responsibilities
· Coordinate rental details including equipment requirements, availability, and suggesting suitable attachments/accessories.
· Manage rental contracts and supporting documentation accurately in the rental and invoicing software.
· Handle contract amendments, suspensions, and terminations while ensuring timely equipment collection.
· Assist in resolving customer invoice issues, managing credits, and addressing past due receivables.
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the transportation department, including scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of haul trucks.
· Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including DOT regulations and safety standards.
· Work with Fleet Coordinator to manage and maintain the haul trucks, including routine maintenance and repairs.
· Oversee hiring and training within the department.
· Review Department Profit and Loss Statements to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
· 2 to 3 years rental experience preferred.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, technology driven, service environment.
· Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
· Must be able to communicate effectively, verbal, and written, with management, co-workers, and customers.
· High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
· The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
