Location: Evansville, Indiana | Full-Time | In-Office/Plant-Based

Chem Group is looking for a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler to join our team in Evansville, Indiana.

As a Material Handler, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient movement of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals throughout our facility. You’ll work alongside experienced plant personnel, gain hands-on experience, and receive ongoing training designed to help you develop your skills and advance toward a Technician Level 2 position.

 This position is a 12 hr rotating dupont  schedule with built in Overtime every 2 weeks and a starting pay of  $21/hr plus a night shift differential of $1/hr!!! We are also offering a  SIGN-ON BONUS of $3,000!!!!!   


What You'll Do

As a Material Handler, your responsibilities will include:

  • Safely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals from tank trucks, box vans, railcars, and other transportation vessels.
  • Perform daily material handling and shipping/receiving activities.
  • Collect and handle material samples as required.
  • Conduct physical inventory and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Complete required paperwork, documentation, and operational records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including housekeeping, painting, mowing, and weed-eating.
  • Assist plant operations personnel with a variety of activities as needed.
  • Follow all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) requirements, procedures, and policies.
  • Follow Chem Group's quality policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training to develop additional skills and progress toward Technician Level 2.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on business and operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including arithmetic, fractions, proportions, and basic algebra.
  • Ability and willingness to successfully complete required training for specific processes, projects, and job responsibilities.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Ability to comply with Chem Group's drug and alcohol testing policy.
  • Ability to meet applicable fit-for-duty requirements.
  • Ability to climb stairs and safely use ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including appropriate eye protection, hard hat, and steel-toed work shoes. Additional PPE may be required depending on the task.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed, particularly during peak seasons or specific project deadlines.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities and required training outlined in the applicable RCRA/Hazardous Waste Job Duties Matrix.
