History:

Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.  


Summary of Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Central Supply, the Central Supply Technician is responsible for the inventory and distribution of supplies in assigned user departments to ensure stock levels meet established requirements. The Central Supply Technician performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The Central Supply Technician may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or MCHD proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical   standards. The Central Supply Technician is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The Central Supply Technician is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Martin County Hospital.    

Requirements


Education:
Prefer High School diploma or equivalent   


Experience:
Familiar with sterile technique and application.   

Knowledge of supplies and inventory systems along with operating personal computers. 

Prefer CNA or LVN certification. 

Prefer minimum of 1-2 years prior experience in material management.
