Description

The Career Coach supports students enrolled in NCUS TEC's Fiber Optics programs by providing coaching, mentorship, recruitment, retention, and job placement services. This position helps students overcome barriers, earn certifications, develop professional skills, and secure employment in the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate is professional, emotionally mature, dependable, and highly motivated to help others succeed. They must be able to build rapport, hold students accountable, and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve their career goals.

Essential Duties

Provide one-on-one career coaching and case management to Fiber Optics students.

Conduct student recruitment, outreach, and enrollment activities.

Assist students with resumes, interview preparation, job search strategies, and career planning.

Maintain regular communication with students to support retention and completion.

Build relationships with employers to identify hiring opportunities.

Conduct career readiness workshops and professional development sessions.

Maintain accurate case notes, student records, and outcome tracking.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in career coaching, workforce development, case management, recruitment, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and hold students accountable while maintaining professionalism.

  • Special Requirements
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of insurance required. 
  • Ability to travel locally for recruitment, employer visits, and student support. 
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends. ·
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
