Hours: Part-time 15 hours/week (3 days/week with occasional Saturday’s)

Overview:

Founded in 2016, Uncommon Threads is an innovative nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through the transformative power of clothing. Based in Lawrence, MA, we help low-income women rebuild confidence, self-esteem, and hope through personal styling, quality clothing, peer support, and self-esteem workshops. Since our founding, we have served more than 20,000 women and continue to expand our reach and impact.

Uncommon Closet, the program’s social enterprise, sells donated new and pre-worn designer and mainstream brand apparel to the public with proceeds benefiting Uncommon Threads. We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with sales and daily operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is a tech savvy individual who is knowledgeable about fashion and ecommerce to expand Uncommon Closet’s reach. The position offers the opportunity for potential growth as well as the chance to make a difference in the lives of underserved women.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  •  Minimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
  •  Knowledge of WIX, Poshmark, and/or other ecommerce platforms
  •  Knowledge of women’s fashion and designer lines
  •  Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  •  Excellent computer skills
  •  Highly organized and attention to detail needed
  •  Social media savvy (Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok)
  •  Must be able to push, pull or lift 30 pounds


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • This is a 15 hour per week, non-exempt, non-benefited position with a pay range starting at $20 per hour, commensurate upon experience.  
  • Eligible to accrue Paid Sick Time beginning on your first day of employment, in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
