Description

SUMMARY: Responsible to manage sales, staff, training and developing specific business plans; implement account and Company procedures; bring effective solutions for complex business issues; and possess the ability to utilize effective techniques to stimulate sales growth for assigned accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Develop and provide strategic leadership/input to staff.
  • Follow specific company guidelines regarding pricing structures related to specific customer accounts, with ability to understand and identify customer requirements.
  • Ability to explain and interpret Customer Marketing Agreement and other programs to customer and sales team. Assist in negotiation of contracts.
  • Adhere to Company standards to protect Company integrity.
  • Maintains contact with Sales Manager and Leadership Team to communicate sales strategy and direction.
  • Evaluate/compare pricing and other programs with those of other customers by analyzing other plans, surveys and other information.
  • Maintain assigned account files and records. Prepare/file reports on issues with customer location.
  • Implement and manage Company Merchandising Standards. Ensure that the account meets Company Merchandising Standards related to product supply and rotation.
  • Maintain account specific data and sales history on palm unit, to include inventory control and account management information while.
  • Log daily sales calls, appointments and office time.
  • Create correspondence, reports, presentations and other documentation as required by position.
  • Meet customer service expectations through daily communication, problem solving and appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintain professional team relationship with co-workers and customers that contact is made with.
  • Communicate account activities to designated parties.
  • Complete required paperwork daily for assigned accounts.
  • Participate in sales team meetings.
  • Cover assigned accounts in vacant sales territories.
  • Follow management weekend rotational schedule.
  • Train, evaluate and develop Account Management Team.
  • Coordinate and work on reset teams to successfully implement resets in specified customers.
  • Coordinate and work on special projects in specified customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead, manage and supervise a subordinate staff. Maintain direction and compliance with Company’s policies and applicable regulations/laws.

Requirements

COMPETENCIES: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated management, marketing and organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

  • Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or equivalent, with 1 to 3 years sales experience. Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to internalize information and the ability to respond to common inquires.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook).
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record within Company MVR policy guidelines.
  • Other Qualifications: Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack to lift/move product. Valid driver’s license, current liability insurance certificate, and driving record within MVR policy standards.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Local daily travel to customer locations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/kneel bend and reach.

The employee must lift, push, pull, carry and/or move up to 10 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, and distance vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
