We are seeking an analytically minded, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team.

Requirements

As an essential member of the finance team, this position is responsible for financial reporting, the annual audit process, and legal and regulatory compliance. This position provides oversight of the foundation’s operating budget and disbursement functions as well as manages the administration of the charitable remainder trust and charitable gift annuity program. 


Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the annual audit process of the foundation financial statements by an independent accounting firm including planning, interim, and year-end fieldwork. Prepare fiscal year-end adjusting entries and account progressions. Prepare materials requested by the independent accounting firm. Assist with preparation of the draft of the audited financial statements and footnotes.
  • Responsible for all legal and regulatory filings including federal and state tax filings, including Form 990 and Form 990-T. 
  • Lead the annual budget process as prepared by all foundation budget managers and units. Manage the budget and monitor variances throughout the year. Perform detailed budget reviews at the six-month and nine-month periods. 
  • Review all foundation operational expenditures for appropriateness, allowability, and alignment with approved budget and disbursement guidelines. Perform annual review of the foundation’s disbursement guidelines.
  • Manage administration of charitable remainder trust and gift annuity program. Communicate with third-party administrator on newly establish and matured trust and gift annuities and coordinate required tax filings and mailings.
  • Manage daily general ledger activity, review journal entries, and assist with the administration of financial systems. Complete special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related field. CPA, MBA, or MAcc is preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional experience related to employment area, preferably in auditing and non-profit accounting.

  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
