Our communities are growing and so are our teams! We’re hiring an Associate Director of Facilities at our corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert level service, facilities, and capital projects advice to Managers of Facilities and Service for a specific portfolio of properties within Mark-Taylor. This will be achieved by demonstrating an understanding of the underlying business mission, and being a thought leader and effective executer in areas of business strategy and community operations.

Requirements
  • Preferred experience at 3 properties within Mark-Taylor.
  • Preferred tenure of 1+ years at current Mark-Taylor property.
  • Minimum of 2+ years in a multi-site facilities management role. Proven track record of hiring, developing and promoting employees into management positions that helped the organization reach its goals.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience leading large teams through build-outs, major capital projects, etc
  • Vendor management and negotiation experience with a proven track record of negotiating large scale contracts.
  • Knowledge of building systems – plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pools, irrigation systems, access control systems, etc.- with a  roven ability to quickly identify & resolve issues in both a proactive and reactive setting.
  • PA certification and CPO certifications required or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hiring.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in abatement procedures (eliminating risk as it pertains to water contamination, SMG, fire and smoke damage, and bio-hazard), suppression systems (including monitoring equipment such as annunciators, fire control panels, smoke evacuation systems, etc.), and an understanding of NFPA local codes.
  • Understanding of general safety requirements, including HAZCOM, SDS, and GHS.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and its applications (word, excel, power point).
  • Ability to analyze data and trends and the ability deliver back to leadership in various report formats (excel, word, PowerPoint)

In This Role You Will

  • Oversee the hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. This includes performing consistent inspections, diagnosing problems and making necessary repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring, carpentry, dry walling, appliances and exterior structures.
  • Use extensive knowledge and problem-solving skills in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, Construction, Capital Projects, and all safety & OSHA-related standards.
  • Work with Manager of Community Operations, Manager of Facilities & Service, Associate Managing Directors and Managing Directors on the day-to-day operations including service-related issues, capital planning and vendor oversight.
  • Partner with co-workers (ADFs and AMDs) to work on vendor partnerships, health, safety, security, and emergency response procedures.
  • Assist in development and implementation of Mark-Taylor operations policies and procedures in accordance with laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Lead a high-performance work environment that boosts morale, increases productivity and retention, provides career development opportunities, and delivers optimal results.
  • Use operational expertise to collaborate with internal partners including Human Resources, Training and Development, Talent Acquisition and other departments to ensure excellence in people management, organizational effectiveness and the Mark-Taylor.
