About the Job
As our Maintenance Manager, you’ll keep the plant running by leading the maintenance team and the work that keeps our production equipment reliable—repairs, upgrades, installations, and preventive maintenance. From batching and packaging to process equipment, you’ll make sure our lines are ready, safe, and performing, while coaching your technicians and partnering with engineering to keep improving how we work.
What You’ll Do
This role blends hands-on, day-to-day leadership (about 70% of the job) with strategic planning and improvement (about 30%).
- Lead the maintenance team day to day—setting schedules, prioritizing tasks, and building a positive, collaborative crew
- Oversee repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment, including batching, packaging, and process lines
- Keep line-monitoring sensors (RedZone) working and respond quickly to equipment downtime
- Keep PM schedules current and compliant in our maintenance system (Fiix)
- Manage the MRO stockroom to support PM and repair work—keeping costs down while providing the highest level of service to operations
- Ensure idle equipment stays ready to run, and support process-improvement projects
- Support food-safety programs, including HACCP implementation and the SQF code
- Coach technicians through regular 1:1s, constructive feedback, training plans, and clear goals
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing to improve line efficiency, PM programs, and equipment reliability (MTBF)
- Build a comprehensive spare-parts list and help develop spare-parts budgets with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance
- Report on maintenance KPIs
What Makes You a Great Fit
- A high school diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of related maintenance experience
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication, plus strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working independently while also welcoming direction on assignments
- A collaborative approach with your team and the broader operations group
- Comfortable in a manufacturing environment—mostly office-based, with time on the floor where PPE such as safety glasses and hearing protection is required, and able to occasionally lift or move up to 50–75 lbs
