The Sanctuary Golf Club, a prestigious, Member-owned private golf club located in beautiful Sanibel, FL is accepting resumes for full-time, experienced Bartenders!

 

Our newly renovated Clubhouse spaces offer an exciting, updated environment for our Food and Beverage team to work. The transformation includes a brand new bar with 18+ seats and 35 additional casual dining seats, a flexible dining space for private events and social gatherings, improved acoustics, and completely updated furnishing and finishes.

*COMPENSATION: Base hourly rate, plus share of gratuities/service charges, total compensation typically avg. between $25/hr. - $40/hr.


SCHEDULE: Flexibility and dependability is required. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements
  • Provides exceptional, personalized service to Club Members and their Guests in a professional and welcoming manner. 
  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club standards and Member preferences. 
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and other beverage offerings. 
  • Creates a warm and engaging atmosphere while anticipating Members’ needs and providing attentive service. 
  • Takes beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently, entering orders into the Club’s point-of-sale system. 
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout each shift. 
  • Prepares garnishes, mixers, and other bar supplies and monitor inventory levels; requests additional supplies as necessary.
  • Processes Member charges and payments accurately and follow established Club procedures. 
  • Ensures proper sanitation and compliance with health, safety, and responsible alcohol service standards. 
  • Works closely with Servers, Culinary Staff, and other team members to ensure a seamless dining experience. 
  • Assists with setup and breakdown of bar and dining areas for regular service, private events, and special functions. 
  • Maintains an attractive and well-presented bar, including glassware, equipment, displays, and service areas. 
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and a genuine desire to build positive relationships with Club Members and Guests. 
  • Follows Club policies and procedures while consistently maintaining high standards of service. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the Club.
  • Cleans and locks up according to nightly closing  procedures, including entire Clubhouse facilities.
  • Reports complaints to management immediately, and works efficiently to a prompt solution.
  • Ensures that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring, and takes precautions against possible spoilage.
  • Attends staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions and training, as required
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education, Experience, Skills and Requirements

  • At least one year of experience bartending; upscale environment preferred (private club environment, a plus)
  • Knowledge of all aspects of mixology including food/wine pairings and wine presentation and service
  • Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages in Florida
  • Must consistently demonstrate friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, obliging and attentive service to Members and Guests in all areas of the Club, including the dining rooms, banquet, and spaces in and around the Clubhouse
  • Show outstanding professionalism and helpfulness to everyone, including coworkers
  • Approach each shift with a positive attitude and commitment to the team
  • Food Safety certification (or must obtain certification after starting)
  • Must be dependable and available to work nights, holidays and weekends

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods throughout shifts and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • Push, pull, lift, move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties for extended periods, including moving boxes, large tables, chairs and other dining and event-related furniture and equipment
  • Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
  • Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
