Position Summary
The Director of Sales leads the sales strategy and business development efforts for Hotel Saint Vincent, driving revenue growth across group, corporate, leisure, and other key market segments. This role is responsible for developing and executing the hotel's sales plan, cultivating meaningful client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and positioning Hotel Saint Vincent competitively within the New Orleans market.
This is a hands-on leadership role that actively drives business while developing the sales team and partnering closely with Revenue, Events, Operations, Food & Beverage, Finance, and the Home Office team.
Key Responsibilities

- Own and execute the hotel's sales strategy across group, corporate, leisure, and other assigned market segments.
- Develop the annual sales plan with clear revenue goals, market priorities, account strategies, and measurable action plans.
- Consistently prospect for new business while growing and protecting existing accounts.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities and ensure disciplined follow-up from initial inquiry through conversion.
- Monitor pace, production, market trends, competitive activity, and account performance, adjusting strategy when results require it.
- Maintain accurate account, activity, and opportunity information within the hotel's CRM and sales systems.
- Prepare forecasts and sales reports that clearly communicate performance, opportunities, risks, and next steps.
- When business is not pacing to goal, identify the gap early and develop an actionable strategy to address it.

- Listen to clients, understand their needs, and develop thoughtful solutions that align with both their objectives and the hotel's capabilities.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally and ensure commitments made during the sales process are honored.

- Partner closely with Revenue Management on demand, pricing, need periods, account production, and opportunities to maximize total hotel revenue.
- Collaborate with Events, Operations, and Food & Beverage to ensure a seamless transition from the sales process through planning and execution.
- Communicate proactively with hotel leadership regarding VIPs, group movements, client expectations, upcoming business, and operational considerations.
- Partner with Marketing and the Home Office team on promotions, campaigns, sales collateral, partnerships, and market positioning.
- Participate actively in revenue, leadership, forecasting, and other hotel meetings as appropriate.
- Ensure Sales remains connected to the operation. Understand what we are selling, how the guest experiences it, and what the hotel can consistently deliver.

- Stay informed on New Orleans market trends, competitive hotels, citywide events, and changes in customer behavior.
- Analyze account and segment performance to understand what is driving results and where strategy should evolve.
- Coach the sales team on prospecting, account management, site inspections, presentations, negotiation, and closing.
- Ensure the team maintains strong knowledge of guestrooms, event spaces, Food & Beverage offerings, and the overall Hotel Saint Vincent experience.
- Seek feedback from clients, peers, and hotel leadership and use it to strengthen sales strategy and leadership.
- Treat lost business as an opportunity to learn. Understand why we did not win it and use that insight to improve future opportunities.

- Represent Hotel Saint Vincent in the market with warmth, professionalism, confidence, and a strong understanding of what makes the property distinctive.
- Conduct thoughtful and personalized site inspections and presentations designed to convert qualified business.
- Develop client relationships that extend beyond a single transaction and create opportunities for repeat and referral business.
- Maintain regular contact with key accounts and proactively identify changing needs and future opportunities.
- Attend relevant industry events, trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and community functions to strengthen the hotel's market presence.
- Follow up with clients after stays, meetings, and events to understand their experience and identify opportunities for improvement and future business.
- Protect the reputation and positioning of Hotel Saint Vincent by ensuring what we sell reflects what we can deliver exceptionally well.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of progressive hotel sales experience, with luxury, lifestyle, boutique, or full-service hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Previous hotel sales leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing sales strategies and achieving revenue goals.
- Strong understanding of group, corporate, and leisure market segments.
- Knowledge of the New Orleans hospitality market and local business community preferred.
- Strong leadership, coaching, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to analyze production, market data, forecasts, and revenue opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and lead by example.
- Experience with hotel CRM, sales, property management, and reporting systems preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and industry events as business needs require.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $100,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience
