We design and build backup power packages, including tanks and enclosures, for healthcare, industrial, and technology-driven customers that require uninterrupted power at all times. Job Summary


The Finish Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily paint and finishing operations to ensure products are coated safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to established quality standards. This position leads finishing personnel, manages production workflow, monitors coating quality, and supports operational objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.


The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, experience in industrial painting or finishing operations, and the ability to balance production requirements with quality expectations. This role requires a visible presence on the production floor, a commitment to employee development, and a passion for continuous improvement.


As the Texas facility continues to expand, this position will play a key role in developing team members, implementing standardized processes, and building a high-performing finishing department.


Essential Job Functions


Production Leadership & Execution


· Plan and execute daily paint and finishing schedules to support production requirements and customer delivery commitments.

· Ensure proper product preparation, coating application, curing, inspection, and staging activities.

· Coordinate workflow and priorities with Fabrication, Welding, Material Handling, Assembly, Packaging, and Shipping departments.

· Monitor daily production performance and proactively address bottlenecks, delays, and resource constraints.

· Balance manpower and resources to maximize efficiency and productivity.

· Drive adherence to production schedules while maintaining quality standards.

· Monitor departmental performance and communicate operational priorities and challenges to leadership.

· Support achievement of departmental and facility performance objectives.


Team Leadership & Employee Development


· Lead, coach, train, and develop paint technicians and finishing personnel.

· Establish and communicate clear expectations related to safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and performance.

· Support employee onboarding, training, performance management, and development initiatives.

· Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.

· Identify and develop future leaders within the department.

· Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

· Promote teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement throughout the department.


Quality & Continuous Improvement


· Ensure all coating applications meet company, customer, and quality requirements.

· Monitor and reduce quality defects, rework, and waste.

· Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to quality concerns.

· Utilize production and quality metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

· Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.

· Support standardized work practices, process documentation, and operational best practices.

· Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to implement process improvements and quality enhancements.


Safety & Equipment Management


· Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the department.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and established safety procedures.

· Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions immediately.

· Ensure employees properly utilize PPE and follow safe work practices.

· Monitor equipment condition and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.

· Ensure paint, coatings, consumables, and production materials are available to support operations.

· Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas.

· Support safety training initiatives and incident investigations.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications


· High School Diploma or GED.

· Minimum 3 years of finishing, painting, coating, or manufacturing experience.

· Minimum 2 years of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of industrial paint systems, coating applications, and finishing processes.

· Ability to organize work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Ability to effectively coach, train, and develop employees.

· Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.


Highly Preferred


· Industrial painting or coating experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience leading paint or finishing operations.

· Experience supporting startup operations, facility expansions, or new plant launches.

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.

· Experience with production scheduling and workflow coordination.

· Experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial production environments.


Preferred


· Technical certification, trade school training, or related education.

· Experience with ERP systems, manufacturing software, or production reporting systems.

· Knowledge of ISO standards and manufacturing quality systems.

· Experience supporting employee development and cross-training initiatives.

· Advanced root cause analysis and corrective action experience.


Working Conditions


Work is performed in a manufacturing, production, and warehouse environment and may include both indoor and outdoor work areas. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, airborne particles, paint fumes, dust, elevated noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, material handling equipment, and uneven walking surfaces.

The position requires regular presence throughout production operations to monitor workflow, support employees, address operational challenges, and ensure compliance with safety and quality expectations. Required PPE must be worn at all times in designated work areas, and all safety procedures and training requirements must be followed.


Physical Requirements


· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing and production areas.

· Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, and perform physical inspections of work areas and equipment.

· Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to safely operate production tools, equipment, and machinery.

· Ability to use measuring devices and inspect finished products for quality and conformance.

· Ability to maintain visual acuity required to identify defects, review documentation, and monitor production activities.

· Ability to communicate effectively in elevated noise environments while wearing required PPE.

· Ability to safely navigate active manufacturing and warehouse environments.
