POSITION PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Housekeeping Team Lead serves as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the housekeeping team while also performing custodial duties. The Team Lead relays work priorities and instructions from the Facilities Manager, reviews completed work for quality, trains and supports staff, and promptly reports concerns to the Facilities Manager. This position helps maintain clean, safe, well-maintained, and adequately supplied ACCESS facilities to support daily business operations.
This position does not have direct supervisory authority and is not responsible for discipline, corrective action, performance evaluations, leave approval, scheduling decisions, or other employment decisions. These responsibilities remain with the Facilities Manager.
FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES
- Team Coordination and Support
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact between the Facilities Manager and housekeeping staff.
- Relay daily assignments, cleaning priorities, and specific instructions established by the Facilities Manager.
- Train new housekeeping employees on established cleaning procedures, proper equipment use, safety practices, and ACCESS expectations.
- Review completed housekeeping work for quality and report concerns to the Facilities Manager.
- Answer routine work-related questions and provide practical support regarding established cleaning procedures and assigned duties.
- Communicate housekeeping concerns, staffing needs, supply needs, and facility issues directly to the Facilities Manager.
- Provide staff with reminders about established procedures, schedules, safety requirements, and organizational expectations, and report unresolved or recurring concerns to the Facilities Manager.
- Communicate coverage needs to the Facilities Manager and relay assignment changes authorized by the Facilities Manager.
- Serve as a resource for housekeeping staff regarding daily duties, facility needs, and instructions received from the Facilities Manager.
2.Custodial
- Conduct walkthroughs of facilities to identify cleaning needs, maintenance concerns, or other issues.
- Perform custodial activities to ensure facilities are kept in clean and sanitary condition, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and other floor care.
- Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.
- Cleaning sinks, countertops, mirrors, floors, toilets, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, walls, woodwork, doors, wall hangings, baseboards, and other surfaces.
- Cleaning windows as needed.
- Replenish supplies in restrooms, break rooms, kitchenettes, kitchens, and other designated areas.
- Empty trash cans into appropriate disposal areas.
- Identify and report possible repairs or maintenance concerns.
- Complete light maintenance tasks as assigned and appropriate.
- Monitor housekeeping equipment and supply inventory and notify the Facilities Manager when supplies or replacement items are needed.
- Help maintain organization of housekeeping closets, storage areas, equipment, and supplies.
3.Quality Control
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of assigned facilities or areas to review whether established housekeeping standards are being met.
- Identify work requiring additional attention and communicate the need to the appropriate staff member in accordance with instructions and priorities established by the Facilities Manager.
- Receive and follow up on cleaning concerns or requests and escalate matters requiring management direction to the Facilities Manager.
- Review completed housekeeping services for consistency and thoroughness.
- Notify the Facilities Manager of recurring facility, housekeeping, equipment, quality, conduct, or performance concerns.
4.Safety
- Follow ACCESS health and safety policies and procedures and provide staff with reminders regarding established safety requirements.
- Observe the use of cleaning products, equipment, and supplies and promptly report unsafe or inappropriate practices to the Facilities Manager.
- Follow applicable O.S.H.A., A.D.A., HAZ-MAT, playground equipment safety, childcare licensure, and other applicable regulations and standards.
- Identify potential safety hazards and report concerns promptly.
- Monitor the storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals and promptly report or address immediate safety concerns in accordance with established procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
5.Communication and Coordination
- Maintain professional communication with housekeeping staff, supervisors, employees, and other departments.
- Communicate facility concerns and housekeeping needs promptly to the Facilities Manager.
- Respond appropriately to requests for housekeeping assistance.
- Relay priorities and help coordinate special cleaning projects, room setups, events, or other facility needs as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain appropriate documentation or checklists as requested by the Facilities Manager.
6.Additional Responsibilities
- Complete relevant and approved continuing professional education each year as required to maintain professional standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimal travel is required for this position.
- ACCESS drivers are required to maintain a valid Driver’s License, current auto liability insurance and registration, a clean driving record, and physical ability to drive to local locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification: Must be licensed to drive in the state of Arkansas.
Experience/Knowledge Required:
Experience in maintenance, grounds or custodial role or on-the-job training is acceptable.
Skills/Abilities:
