Vice President, Executive Business Partner
Fully Remote Remote Worker - N/A
Job Type
Full-time
Description

The Executive Business Partner serves as a meticulous, high-trust partner to the President, setting the standard for rigorous meeting preparation, careful follow-through, and sound documentation across the organization's most important initiatives. The position balances hands-on project ownership with portfolio-level oversight of the President's priorities, applying disciplined process to ensure initiatives deliver measurable outcomes while minimizing organizational and reputational risk. As a trusted partner to the President, the role carries expanded accountability for strategic follow-through, careful priority sequencing, and sound judgment on sensitive matters.

The Executive Business Partner operates with significant autonomy, owns outcomes on delegated initiatives, and contributes to executive- and board-level preparation. The role calls for a methodical, detail-oriented approach: weighing decisions carefully, verifying details before they matter, and following through consistently until work is truly complete. The ideal candidate has a strong project management and organizational orientation, deep respect for process and documentation, and a discretion-first mindset in handling sensitive and complex situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership & Special Projects (35%)

  • Serve as a genuine strategic thought partner to the President, bringing well-researched perspective to business priorities and decisions rather than simply executing on them.
  • Lead special projects, from executive search coordination to organizational design initiatives, owning outcomes from framing through careful implementation.
  • Conduct thorough research, analysis, and synthesis to inform executive decision-making, proactively surfacing what's relevant before being asked.
  • Track progress against key organizational initiatives with attention to detail, flagging risk to deadlines or ownership well before it becomes a problem.

Meetings, Communications & Organizational Coordination (30%)

  • Prepare agendas, background materials, and briefing documents ahead of leadership, board, and PE meetings, shaping the narrative with precision as well as the logistics.
  • Take careful notes, track action items, and drive follow-through to ensure commitments made in meetings are documented and actually get done.
  • Keep the President's inbox organized and prioritized, surfacing what matters and independently handling or deferring the rest.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact between the President, the CEO as requested, and other leaders and teams on priorities and follow-up.
  • Build strong, steady working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including PE partners, board members, and business-line leaders.
  • Support the coordination of organizational change initiatives already underway.

Confidential & Administrative Operations (25%)

Exercise sound, independent judgment on sensitive matters including personnel changes, M&A diligence, and compensation, handling each with complete discretion and care.

  • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation, with an eye for accuracy and consistency.
  • Anticipate needs before they're raised and act on them thoughtfully, without requiring direction.

Calendar & Executive Support Oversight (10%)

  • Own the President's calendar end to end: scheduling, prioritizing, and resolving conflicts across internal meetings, board/PE commitments, and external engagements.
  • Direct and support an Executive Assistant on travel logistics, expense reporting, and calendaring support where required, ensuring these functions are handled accurately and on time.

What Success Looks Like

  • The President treats this role as a genuine strategic partner, trusting the rigor behind the work.
  • Special projects move from idea to completion with limited oversight, executed carefully and documented well.
  • Meetings are well-prepared, well-documented, and followed up on without anyone needing to ask twice.
  • Sensitive matters are handled with complete discretion and sound judgment, every time.
  • The President can hand off complex, detailed work and trust it will come back accurate and well done.
  • The calendar runs smoothly, and travel/expenses are handled reliably by the EA this role directs.
