Summary: This position will conduct pre-operational inspections to verify and validate that the cleaning and sanitation process was performed adequately.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pre-Operational Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections to validate that all equipment, production areas, and machinery are cleaned, sanitized, and fully compliant with GMP standards before production begins.
  • Material Quality Checks: Perform comprehensive visual and physical examinations of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials to confirm that they meet stringent quality specifications, are free from contaminants, and are ready for use.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Continuously monitor and document critical environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and cleanliness, ensuring they adhere to prescribed GMP standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document and promptly report any non-conformances, deviations, or cleanliness-related issues using established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with production teams to address and resolve quality-related concerns, fostering a culture of excellence throughout the organization.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of pre-op inspections, quality checks, and corrective actions taken, ensuring full compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance food safety and quality processes.
  • Training: Engage in and/or conduct training sessions to ensure all employees are well informed about and compliant with GMP and quality control protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in food safety, quality assurance, or related fields is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a quality control or food safety role within the food industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and communicate quality and food safety issues.
  • Familiarity with and understanding of GMP standards and food safety regulations is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer applications (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • You must be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment criminal background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The preferred candidate will have 2+ years of experience as a quality control inspector.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. Employees will twist, turn, and bend.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot/cold weather conditions and loud to moderate noise.
