Position: Senior Human Resources Generalist

Location: Uxbridge, MA

Position Type/Schedule:  Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote) 

Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000

(Compensation is an estimate and depends on skills, knowledge, education, location and experience)


Lenze Americas is adding an experienced HR Generalist with multi-state payroll experience to the HR team.


Position Snapshot: The Senior HR Generalist provides comprehensive support across talent acquisition, employee relations, HR administration, talent management, and payroll processing, while serving as a trusted partner to managers and employees. Working closely with our HR Business Partner, this role helps support managers in a wide range of people-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, succession planning, organizational development, and employee engagement initiatives. 


As a valued member of the Lenze Americas HR team, this role performs a broad range of day-to-day HR operations and administrative activities, including onboarding and offboarding, HRIS (Paylocity) maintenance, employee data management, benefits and policy administration, responding to employee and manager inquiries, maintaining employee records, supporting compliance initiatives, and ensuring accurate and timely HR documentation. With a strong emphasis on full-cycle recruiting for professional, technical, and management-level positions, this role utilizes creative sourcing strategies to quickly fill critical and hard-to-fill roles. 


Success in this role requires the ability to balance strategic partnership with hands-on execution, build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, manage multiple priorities with urgency, and thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on results, accountability, and continuous improvement.

A day in the life:  


Talent Acquisition, Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Conduct full-cycle recruiting for professional, technical, and management-level positions from requisition approval through onboarding
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, hiring requirements, and desired candidate profiles
  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies, build talent pipelines, engage passive candidates, and influence hiring decisions to attract and secure top talent in competitive labor markets
  • Source talent, screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, coordinate interview processes, and facilitate candidate assessments
  • Manage candidate communications and ensure a positive, professional candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.
  • Prepare offer letters and support offer negotiations in partnership with hiring managers and HR leadership
  • Execute recruiting activities with a strong sense of urgency to minimize time-to-fill while maintaining candidate quality
  • Partner with managers to facilitate effective onboarding plans, accelerate productivity, strengthen employee engagement, and support long-term retention
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements that enhance the overall employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle  

Multi-State Payroll Processing & Compliance

  • Process biweekly multi-state payroll through Paylocity, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll administration in accordance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Review, reconcile, and validate payroll data and reports, including timecards, PTO accruals, overtime, shift premiums, benefit deductions, garnishments, and other earnings and deductions, resolving discrepancies prior to payroll processing
  • Monitor and validate employee timecards, working with managers and employees to resolve exceptions, missing punches, and approval issues prior to payroll processing
  • Process payroll-related employee changes, including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and status updates in accordance with effective dates
  • Administer payroll deductions, withholdings, and tax configurations, including benefits, wage garnishments, tax levies, and employee tax elections, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Partner closely with Finance to ensure accurate communication and processing of incentives, bonuses, special payments, and other compensation adjustments
  • Audit payroll records and employee data to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local labor law, wage and hour, and payroll compliance requirements, ensuring payroll practices remain compliant with changing regulations
  • Serve as a payroll resource to employees and managers by responding to payroll-related questions and resolving issues in a timely manner

HR Business Partnership

  • In collaboration with the Senior HR Business Partner, act as a trusted HR Business Partner to managers and employees across the organization
  • Provide guidance and support on simple employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and HR best practices, escalating as needed
  • Coach managers on performance management, employee development, accountability, and corrective action processes
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, organizational development, and talent management initiatives
  • Partner with leaders & HR team to identify and address employee engagement, retention, and development opportunities
  • Promote consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment practices

Employee Relations & Employee Experience

  • Respond timely to employee questions and concerns regarding company policies, benefits, programs, and employment matters
  • Assist with employee relations investigations, documentation, and resolution of routine workplace issues
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, stay interviews, and HR focus meetings to enhance the employee experience and foster a positive workplace culture
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain HRIS records (Paylocity) and ensure employee data is accurate, complete, and up to date
  • Process personnel transactions, including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations on accordance with Lenze Americas procedures
  • Help administer employee benefits programs, invoice reconciliation, and assist employees with benefit-related questions and enrollment activities
  • Help Administer and support employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, state-mandated leave programs, ADA accommodations, parental leave, military leave, and other applicable leave programs, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company requirements
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives that support organizational growth and operational effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experience programs
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies, programs, and procedures
  • Support change management initiatives and organizational improvement efforts
  • Contribute to strategic HR initiatives that strengthen organizational capability and support business objectives

Additional Responsibilities

  • Build trust and strong working relationships with employees, managers, and business leaders across the organization. 
  • Balance strategic HR partnership responsibilities with hands-on execution of day-to-day HR activities. 
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and a high level of customer service. 
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and expand expertise in payroll processing, employee data management, and related compliance requirements. 
  • Perform other duties, projects, and special assignments as needed to support the business and Human Resources team
Requirements

What you bring:      

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent relevant Human Resources experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, HR operations, and HR administration
  • Proven success recruiting and hiring professional, technical, and management-level talent, including difficult-to-fill positions
  • Extensive experience sourcing passive candidates through LinkedIn, networking, employee referrals, social media, and other innovative recruiting strategies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, HR best practices, and employee relations principles
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience processing end-to-end, multi-state payroll with a solid understanding of wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, compliance requirements, garnishments, and payroll audits. Experience supporting Canadian payroll is a plus
  • Demonstrated success partnering with leaders to drive performance management, employee development, corrective action processes, workforce and succession planning, and the effective resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably Paylocity, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and leverage digital tools to enhance efficiency and HR service delivery
  • Highly proficient in administering core HR programs and processes, including onboarding, benefits administration, policy interpretation, employee documentation, and recordkeeping
  • Excellent interviewing, candidate assessment, and talent evaluation skills, with the ability to identify high-quality candidates and assess organizational fit
  • Ability to understand workforce data, help analyze trends, and provide recommendations that support talent acquisition, retention, and business objectives
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Demonstrated interest in utilizing AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, decision-making, and process effectiveness
