Pay varies by position and is based on multiple factors including labor market data and, depending on position, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and/or certifications. Additionally, Sportech takes into account the internal equity of current employees when considering compensation. Sportech’s reasonable and good-faith estimate for new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is $32.00 - $39.00 per hour. The $32.00 - $39.00 per hour includes a $27.00 - $34.00 per hour base hourly rate plus a $5.00 per hour shift differential for working weekend shift. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Job Summary
Manage and assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance and repair of production equipment, building and grounds. Includes but is not limited to automated assembly cells, CNC machines, thermoforming presses and other production support equipment. Coordinate and complete preventative maintenance activities, breakdown repairs and improvement projects across Sportech. Troubleshoot production equipment, tools or facility needs as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs a variety of preventative and routine maintenance/repairs, including electrical, mechanical and plumbing for a manufacturing facility. Ensures that all equipment is functioning satisfactorily.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Controls downtime by informing production of routine preventive maintenance and project work schedules, escalating issues as needed
- Maintains the preventive maintenance and help request processes for applicable equipment and machinery
- Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed
- Detects and reports defects in equipment, building and grounds to appropriate leadership
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Demonstrated strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge and repair abilities
- Must be able to perform the following skills: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, machine repair, and janitorial
- Required to be familiar with and use all hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed and be well versed in the disciplines mentioned above
- Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics and follow written and verbal instructions
- Required to use considerable judgment when performing his/her tasks
- Self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Personal computer/mobile device skills, using typical programs for word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Technical education in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred but not required
- Welding, machining process knowledge preferred but not required
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a manufacturing setting
- Exhibit strong judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills with a high level of integrity
- Ability to respond to maintenance or facilities issues on a 24-hour basis is preferred
- Exceptional communications and continual improvement skills required
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair background required
- Ability to operate forklifts, personnel lifts, snow removal equipment such as snow blowers and light plow trucks
Physical Requirements
- Some heavy lifting of objects up to 100lbs.
- Ability to work from heights, such as from a ladder or scissors lift
- Occasional exposure to dusts, odors, hot and cold temperatures, confined spaces and noise in an industrial setting
