Hours: Monday – Thursday: 5am – 2pm & Friday: 5am -11am

JOB SUMMARY: The Final Inspector is responsible for performing the final inspection of memorial plates to ensure a high quality of workmanship and that the product is accurate to the customer's specifications.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Slide memorial plates from the conveyor to the inspection bench; average plate weight is approximately 25 pounds.
- Inspect plate for fabrication flaws such as paint touch up issues, appropriate buffing, highlighting, gas holes, clear coat flaws, letter spacing and alignment, weld repair, etc.
- Verify that plate has been completed according to work order specifications including size and design, proper emblems, spelling and dates, proper font and letter size, etc.
- Record any defects that are found and route the memorial plate back to the proper operation to make the correction.
- Determine if a plate with errors should be rejected or if corrections can be made.
- Assemble any additional items that are to be included with the memorial plate, such as date scrolls, screws (for future date scrolls), precious portraits, cast frames or special hardware; requires use of silicone, glue and/or screws.
- Coordinate the flow of work orders and products according to order specifications and verify they meet order standards.
- Utilize work order to verify whether memorial plate will be shipped to customer or sent to Granite Operations for additional assembly.
- Maintain an appropriate level of materials and supplies utilized in inspection area.
- Perform adhesion tests and film thickness on clear coat test pieces.
- Participate in a regular rotation with the shipping department to complete the shipment process for customer orders.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 6 months in a Bronze Memorial Product Production
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production.
- Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis in time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency.
- General math skills.
- Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
- Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric.
- Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed.
