The Vice President, Business Development, Commercial Health (IRO) is responsible for leading strategic growth initiatives and driving revenue across the health plan and hospital markets. This executive role focuses on expanding the company’s independent review and related healthcare solutions by cultivating new partnerships, strengthening existing client relationships, and positioning the organization as a trusted, high-quality partner for utilization management, independent medical review, and compliance-driven services.

The VP will develop and execute go-to-market strategies that promote operational excellence, client satisfaction, and sustainable growth in the commercial health sector.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting commercial health plans, hospitals, and health systems.
  • Build, manage, and expand relationships with decision-makers across payer and provider organizations.
  • Lead the creation of tailored proposals, service offerings, and pricing strategies aligned with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee RFP responses, sales presentations, and contract negotiations for health plan and hospital clients.
  • Monitor market trends, payer-provider dynamics, and policy changes impacting independent review and utilization management services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including operations, clinical, compliance, and marketing—to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional client experience.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade associations, and client events to strengthen market presence and thought leadership.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare sales or business development, preferably in independent review, utilization management, or related payer/provider services.
  2. Strong understanding of health plan operations, medical management programs, regulatory compliance, and the commercial payer landscape.
  3. Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with health plans and hospital executives.
  4. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  6. Demonstrated success leading growth strategies in a complex, service-oriented healthcare environment.


Additional Information


• Travel: Yes, up to 70% of the time.

• Location: Remote, with flexibility based on company policies and business needs.

• Sit or stand to complete assigned work on a computer and with other standard office technology. An ergonomic workspace is provided for both options.
