Description

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across key Human Resources functions, including onboarding, benefits, retirement plans, recruiting, employee records, compliance, and HRIS administration. This role serves as a resource for employees and managers while helping ensure HR processes and employee information are completed accurately, consistently, and timely across multiple operating locations. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and offboarding, including I-9/E-Verify, background checks, required documentation, and HRIS updates.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and process routine employee changes within the HRIS.
  • Support benefits and 401(k) administration, including enrollments, eligibility tracking, employee communications, routine questions, required notices, and vendor follow-up.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for routine employee HR questions and escalate complex matters to the HR Manager.
  • Support recruiting activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, background checks, and candidate communication.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and record-retention requirements.
  • Provide administrative support for leave programs, workers' compensation, and other HR compliance activities.
  • Prepare routine HR reports, conduct data audits, and assist with maintaining accurate information across HR systems.
  • Support open enrollment, performance review processes, employee communications, and other recurring HR initiatives.
  • Assist with employee onboarding and HR administration associated with acquisitions and new locations.
  • Other reasonable directives, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.


Requirements
  • One to three years of Human Resources, benefits, administrative, or related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and employee requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize HRIS, benefits, recruiting, and other HR technology platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize when matters should be escalated to HR leadership.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees and leaders across multiple locations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Human Resources in a multi-location organization.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, preferably Paylocity or a similar system.
  • Experience supporting benefits administration, 401(k) administration, recruiting, onboarding, and employee records.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, I-9/E-Verify, and general employment compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting employees across multiple states.
  • Experience within the building materials, lumber, distribution, manufacturing, construction, or a similar industry.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or interest in pursuing a Human Resources certification is a plus.
