Employee Evaluation Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking an Employee Evaluation Specialist who is passionate about supporting caregivers and creating a positive employee experience. This role plays an important part in caregiver performance, engagement, recognition, and retention.
The Employee Evaluation Specialist conducts caregiver evaluations in accordance with company standards and Kansas Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) requirements. Through meaningful, structured touchpoints, this position helps caregivers feel supported, valued, and connected to the organization’s mission.
The ideal candidate has hands-on caregiving experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide constructive feedback while recognizing employee strengths and accomplishments.
Key Responsibilities
Caregiver Evaluations
- Conduct timely and professional quarterly, 6-month, and annual caregiver evaluations in accordance with company standards and applicable HCBS requirements.
- Gather relevant feedback and information from supervisors, clients, and employee documentation to support comprehensive evaluations.
- Deliver evaluation feedback in a constructive, strength-based manner that recognizes accomplishments and encourages professional growth.
- Identify opportunities for additional coaching, training, recognition, or support.
Employee Engagement & Recognition
- Serve as a positive ambassador of company culture during all caregiver interactions.
- Build strong relationships with caregivers and create an evaluation experience that promotes engagement and connection.
- Recognize employee milestones, including work anniversaries, performance achievements, and positive client feedback.
- Support and track initiatives designed to improve caregiver satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
Strategic Focus & Employee Feedback
- Incorporate quarterly focus themes into evaluation conversations, such as professional growth, teamwork, self-care, and client impact.
- Create opportunities for caregivers to share feedback about their employee experience.
- Identify recurring themes, concerns, and opportunities and communicate relevant trends to leadership.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to continuously improve caregiver experience and engagement programs.
Data Management & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of evaluations and employee engagement activities.
- Ensure employee evaluation records meet applicable state requirements and company compliance standards.
- Track evaluation completion, engagement activities, and other relevant metrics.
- Assist leadership with reporting and identifying trends related to caregiver performance and engagement.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling employee and client information.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience required.
- Previous experience training, mentoring, coaching, or supervising caregivers preferred.
- Experience working in HCBS, home care, or a related healthcare environment is a plus.

Performance Expectations
Performance will be evaluated based on successful execution of the responsibilities of the position, including timely completion of caregiver evaluations, quality and accuracy of documentation, compliance, caregiver engagement, and contribution to employee retention and culture.
