Description

The Senior Counsel will provide practical, day-to-day legal support across the Company’s multi-state healthcare operations. The position will independently manage a broad range of operational, contractual, employment, real-estate, and regulatory matters while supporting the General Counsel on significant disputes, transactions, and strategic matters.Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate doctor employment agreements, vendor agreements, payor agreements, business associate agreements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Advise Human Resources and operational leaders regarding employee relations, investigations, discipline, terminations, severance, accommodations, and restrictive covenants.
  • Review and negotiate leases, amendments, assignments, renewals, terminations, practice relocations, and closure-related matters.
  • Advise on corporate practice of medicine and dentistry requirements, MSO and professional-entity structures, ownership arrangements, and provider relationships.
  • Support acquisitions, divestitures, practice transitions, contract disputes, litigation, and outside-counsel management.
  • Develop templates, contracting procedures, and practical guidance for recurring operational legal issues.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor degree and active license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • At least five years of relevant legal experience, preferably including in-house or healthcare-provider experience.
  • Meaningful experience with healthcare real estate and leases, employment and HR counseling, and corporate practice of medicine or dentistry matters.
  • Experience supporting an MSO, DSO, physician practice organization, hospital company, or other multi-location healthcare organization strongly preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage matters and provide clear, practical advice directly to business leaders.
