Description

To provide Clinical Counseling services to adult clients within WINGS. Address issues related to domestic violence, homelessness, and other experiences of trauma by employing a strengths-based and trauma-informed counseling approach to service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide counseling, crisis intervention, domestic violence education, safety planning, and referrals to WINGS clients.

· Conduct biopsychosocial assessments with clients interested in counseling services.

· Complete client-centered counseling Service Plans and updates according to policy.

· Interact with clients and role model social skills, conflict resolution, parenting and other skills of daily living (this may include time management, self-care, conflict, and stress management).

· Advocate for client needs and communicate these needs to the responsible staff member in order to coordinate services.

· Ensure documentation of client records in an accurate and timely way and in accordance with agency policies and funding requirements.

· Responsible for accurate and timely computer data entry and management of client information and services.

· Train and provide clinical supervision to Counseling interns.

· Coach and supervise ICDVP candidates.

· As directed, assist with the training of 40-hour domestic violence and CEU trainings.

· Attend and participate in weekly individual supervision under a licensed clinician, attend weekly team meetings as well as biweekly clinical group supervision.

· Work with Development Staff to establish indicators and outcomes measures, ensure accurate data collection and reporting, and ensure timely submission of all reports.

· Immediately report child abuse to Department of Children and Family Services as mandated by law and in accordance with agency procedures.

· Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Clinical Services.

· Work may be required some evenings, weekends, and holidays, and serve as an on-call staff on a rotating basis with minimal notice, and work at any of the locations within WINGS Program, required.

Requirements

· Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or closely related field, required.

· Experience working with people affected by homelessness, domestic violence, or other trauma related populations, required.

· 40 Hour Domestic Violence Training preferred.

· CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.

· ICDVP credential preferred.

· Spanish Bilingual preferred.

· Strong working knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office Suite along with excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills.

· Must have strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and oral/written communication skills with professional boundaries.

· Possess the ability to work efficiently and independently and be highly organized with attention to detail along with strong project management, interpersonal and problem-solving and decision-making skills.

· Skilled in working with sensitive issues and in maintaining professional boundaries with clients.

· Must have reliable transportation.
