What You’ll Do
BGCSF offers student support and enrichment programs at Gateway High School (GHS) to ensure every student graduates with the skills, habits, and knowledge necessary for college and career success. The Student Support Coordinator oversees Enrichment and Leadership Programs, providing wrap-around support, leadership development, and academic intervention in close partnership with BGCSF leadership and Gateway High School administration.
- Program Facilitation & Oversight (70%)
- Facilitate weekly student leadership development, social-emotional learning, and youth voice initiatives.
- Serve as teacher of record for Independent Study students, monitor progress, take attendance, and evaluate pass/fail criteria.
- Provide case management, tutoring support, and CyberHigh online credit recovery tracking for assigned scholars.
- Oversee and manage the Study Café physical space, defining usage rules and partnering with volunteers.
- Act as a bridge between students and Gateway staff to implement youth-driven ideas and positive school climate initiatives.
- Transport students safely in Club vehicles or on public transit according to BGCSF and GHS policies.
- Administrative (15%)
- Collect, audit, and analyze daily attendance and program participation data to ensure alignment with goals.
- Track and report BGCSF program outcome measurements and attend required staff trainings and meetings.
- Collaborative Duties (15%)
- Maintain strong communication with Gateway administration, teachers, parents, and BGCSF Citywide Services.
- Provide regular program updates to funders, administrators, and stakeholders while supporting school-wide events (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Family Nights).
What You Bring
Required
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent related work experience
- Experience working with teens and young adults, preferably from traditionally underserved communities
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and comfort operating a motor vehicle to transport youth
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and attendance database management
- Excellent written/oral communication, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Background check and fingerprint clearance
- Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (within 90 days of employment)
Preferred
- Curriculum development experience for high school enrichment or after-school programs
- Teaching or professional facilitation experience with high school-aged youth
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks, particularly for events or traveling between sites.

Compensation
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid-level or top of the range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $24.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Pre-Employment Requirements
As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
