What’s The Role
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing records of shipments and bills of lading for truck deliveries. Prepares records of receipt of incoming product and posts to open orders. Responsible for accuracy of shipping documents and verifying receiving receipts with open orders.
What You’ll Own
- Prepares a bill of lading or ticket for each shipment and verifies and records all items loaded.
- Posts shipments to customer orders and calculated balance yet to be shipped. Upon completion of shipment, closes out orders and forwards document to production planning and accounting departments.
- Will investigate inventory discrepancies; will notify supervisor immediately
- Maintains other shipping records such as goods returned, returnable pallets, etc.
- On received goods, will check and count all items unloaded from trucks reporting any discrepancies; will check, verify and record the temperature of the product being received
What You Bring
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- HS graduate or equivalent.
- Three+ years' experience in shipping and inventory control preferably in the produce industry.
- Previous working experience using a forklift and pallet jack; forklift certification preferred.
