Who we are looking for...


We are seeking a Senior MEI Inspector with an innovative mindset, strong time management skills, organization, good work ethic, and someone ready to make an impact in the communities ETM serves. The following skills will be required for this position:

· Perform field inspection of roadways, bridge, drainage, roadside, traffic operations, and other transportation maintenance activities.

· Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract requirements, specifications, plans, standards, approved procedures, and applicable safety requirements.

· Maintain detailed and accurate daily inspection records, including personnel, equipment, work locations, activities, quantities, weather, delays, deficiencies, and significant project events.

· Measure, calculate, and verify quantities of completed work for contractor payment and project documentation.

· Identify and document deficient or nonconforming work and verify satisfactory completion of corrective actions.

· Coordinate inspection activities with contractor representatives, project management, maintenance personnel, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Observe Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) operations and report apparent deficiencies or unsafe conditions.

· Provide technical guidance to inspectors and promote consistent inspection, measurement, documentation, and reporting practices.

Handle complex or higher-risk inspection assignments with limited supervision and promptly escalate technical, contractual, safety, quality, or payment concerns 

Requirements

  · High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical education in civil engineering, construction, transportation, or a related field is preferred.

· Four (4) years of maintenance contract or permit experience. 

· Substantial experience performing transportation construction, maintenance, engineering, or inspection activities.

· CTQP Certification in Asphalt, Concrete, Earthwork, pile driving and drilled shafts are required.

· FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)

· Nuclear Radiation Safety

· Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors


What you'll need to be successful...

· Demonstrated experience inspecting roadway or transportation infrastructure work.
Working knowledge of roadway maintenance and construction practices, materials, equipment, measurement methods, and inspection procedures

· Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, standards, work documents, maps, and technical information.

· Ability to prepare clear, complete, factual, and defensible inspection reports and accurately perform field measurements and quantity calculations.

· Experience supervising, mentoring, or providing technical directions to other inspectors is preferred.
