Schedule

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • No regularly scheduled weekends; overtime may be required based on business needs

Position Summary


The Receiving & Inventory Specialist is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, storing, and recording incoming goods and materials. This position maintains accurate inventory records, ensures materials are stored in an organized and accessible manner, and supports overall warehouse and supply chain operations. 


The Receiving & Inventory Specialist works closely with internal departments and vendors to ensure materials are received, managed, and distributed efficiently.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods and materials for accuracy, quantity, quality, and condition, comparing shipments against purchase orders and other applicable documentation
  • Identify, document, and report shipment discrepancies, shortages, damages, or other receiving issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Enter and maintain accurate receiving and inventory information using inventory management software and other computer systems
  • Verify purchase orders and receiving documentation for accuracy
  • Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas to ensure materials, supplies, and parts are stored safely, efficiently, and in designated locations
  • Perform regular inventory checks and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy
  • Assist with inventory audits and provide inventory reports and information to management as requested
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate potential shortages, excess inventory, or discrepancies to appropriate personnel
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Sales, Production, Maintenance, and other departments to support inventory needs and supply requirements
  • Prepare orders for delivery or pickup according to established schedules, including loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, and shipping materials
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, as authorized and trained
  • Maintain accurate records of materials received, stored, moved, and distributed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse by sweeping, removing trash, organizing materials and parts, and addressing housekeeping needs
  • Follow all Company safety policies, food safety procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs and ensure continuity of coverage
Requirements

Required

  • Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn and effectively use inventory management software and database systems
  • Ability to understand and work with purchase orders and related documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in receiving, shipping, and inventory records
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and hand trucks, following appropriate training and safety procedures
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team

Preferred

  • Previous warehouse, receiving, inventory, manufacturing, or material-handling experience
  • Previous experience using inventory management or warehouse management software
  • Forklift experience or certification 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Frequent use of computers and other electronic equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment as required
  • Ability to work in a combination of office, warehouse, and dairy plant environments
  • Must be able to meet Company requirements for pre-employment screening, including drug and alcohol screening and a background check


Work Environment


This position works in a combination of office, warehouse, and dairy plant environments.


The warehouse environment may include cold temperatures, varying temperatures, noise, wet or slippery surfaces, and frequent movement of materials and equipment. The dairy plant environment may be humid and hot, with conditions varying based on weather and production activities.


Employees may be exposed to cleaning and sanitation chemicals as part of regular job duties. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.


Employees are expected to follow all Company food safety, plant safety, sanitation, and regulatory policies and procedures.
