Facility Services Technician at The Marquardt - FT

The Marquardt, an Illuminus Community, is hiring for a Facility Services Technician, an individual employed to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, buildings and furnishings.


Set on a 52-acre campus with rolling green lawns, gorgeous trees and flowers and paved walkways, The Marquardt offers assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing care as well as independent living options for older adults in Garden Homes and apartments.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment while promoting effective communication and the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Complete routine building maintenance, including minor electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, appliance, door, lock, ceiling, and furniture repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and systems using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Prioritize and complete work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Monitor waste and recycling areas and coordinate readiness for service pickup.
  • Perform routine testing and response for life safety systems, including fire detection, notification, and suppression systems.
  • Respond to facility emergencies such as power outages, water events, gas leaks, elevator issues, and other urgent maintenance needs.
  • Assist with snow removal and other seasonal facility needs.
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and provide auto insurance with Marquardt minimum coverage requirements.

Experience and Training:

  • At least 18 years of age. High school degree required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field
