Hours: Monday - Friday  


Job Description:

A Practice Supervisor provides effective leadership and accountability for clinical staff and PSRs in the respective departments. This includes high-quality patient care and excellent customer service, human resources, health information systems, and quality assurance. 


Scope:

A Practice Supervisor is responsible for supporting staff with the associated providers using a patient-centered focus to achieve the organizational mission statement. This goal includes engagement with providers, employees, and patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Requirements

  

Essential Job Responsibilities: 


Provide direct supervision of Clinical Services staff


Human Resources Management: 

  • Job interviews and employee selection
  • Onboarding and orientation for new staff
  • Regular staff and provider rounding 
  • Manages staffing levels and coverage
  • Communicates clinic announcements to encourage provider and staff engagement including recognition platforms
  • Payroll accuracy and approval
  • Implements quarterly department meetings
  • Serve as a key problem solver/liaison for patient, employee, and physician concerns related to Clinical Services staff
  • Demonstrates staff accountability through regular coaching, counseling, and staff performance reviews

Participates as a member of the Leadership Team:

  •  Promotes and engages in patient-centered culture
  • Demonstrates effective and professional communication (written, verbal, and electronic) 
  • Encourages positive provider relations
  • Inspires and motivates others through effective interpersonal skills

Clinical Care Management:

  • Promotes positive patient relations
  • Empowers staff and providers to commit to a patient-centered focus
  • Optimizes efficient patient flow
  • Participates in patient feedback modalities to ensure high-quality care
  • Understands clinic policies and procedures
  • Promotes safety and security by conducting regular inspections

Health Information Management:

  • Understands and utilizes electronic medical record (EMR) and telephone system
  • Ensures compliance and appropriate utilization of IT resources
  • Participates in audits to ensure compliance and minimize organizational risk
  • Understands and abides by privacy laws (HIPAA) and Tanner Clinic policies to safeguard protected health information (PHI)

Other Requirements: 

  • Healthcare leadership or management experience
  • Proficiency in computer-based skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal relations skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associate degree or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • Five years’ experience as a Medical Assistant

Equipment Operated: 

  • Standard office and clinical equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones

Work Environment: 

  • Primarily medical offices with regular contact with patients
