Position Overview: The Payments Specialist is responsible for utilizing various systems to perform various functions for the organization. Responsibilities include processing and tracking debit card disputes, managing department tickets and incidents, and maintaining ITM fleet.
What You Will Do:
- Post resolution or chargebacks appropriately to members’ accounts or general ledger
- Respond to staff and member questions related to card balances and card-related issues
- Post dispute write-offs to the appropriate general ledger at the end of each month
- Monitor and maintain the ITM fleet to ensure optimal functionality, availability, and member service
- Process loan payments and reversals for transactions that do not automatically interface with the core system
- Review and process system-generated card reports daily
- Help maintain debit card inventory
- Review and process member requests for extended travel notes and international transactions
- Keep documentation on processes up to date
- Continue expanding knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Understands and follows Mastercard and banking regulation guidelines
- Provide cross-departmental support through all Vibrant business units
- Work closely with the Accounting team on any settlement or general ledger exceptions
- Provide insight to Fraud team and card vendor regarding identified card transaction trends and fraud trends.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred
- Experience working in financial institutions is preferred
- Working knowledge of Fiserv DNA, Mastercard CaseTracker, Client Central, MS Excel, and ticketing systems
- Abide by firm confidentiality rules and regulations associated with handling records in a financial institution
- Advanced knowledge of payment operations compliance
- Working knowledge of banking terminology

Environmental and Physical Activity Requirements:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, stooping, and grasping functions. The position also often requires reaching and lifting (up to 25 pounds). Frequent sitting, standing, and repetitive motion activities are also required. Must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted indoors at controlled degrees of temperature.
