Description

OUCU Financial is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Credit Analyst to evaluate, analyze, and make sound credit recommendations for member business lending. Within established lending authority and in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and underwriting standards, this position examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of business loan applications.


The Commercial Credit Analyst assesses the creditworthiness and risk profile of new and existing member business borrowers, ensuring lending decisions are well-supported, consistent, and aligned with the credit union’s risk-management objectives.

The minimum starting pay for this position is $69,960 annually, with relevant education and experience considered in determining the starting pay rate. 


Duties Include:

  • Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes member business/commercial loan applications. Ensures that all documents comply with credit union policies, industry standards, and requirements.
  • Analyzes applicant's financial status, credit, title, environmental assessments, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loans. Evaluates credit data and financial statements to determine degrees of risk.
  • Conducts regular reviews and analyses on business loans to determine on-going risk ratings. Evaluates financial statements, trends, projections, management performance, cash flow, capital structure, and collateral to determine risk ratings. 
  • Conducts monthly participation loan reviews and monitors portfolio performance. 
  • Analyzes potential lending opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist borrowers and increase the credit union's lending portfolio.
  • Keeps informed and current on changes in compliance and regulations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in lending in a financial institution or finance company. 
  • Knowledge of loan underwriting, accounting and financial statements, and loan underwriting requirements. Experience in business lending preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills, decision-making and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Hybrid or remote schedule available. Initial training will take place in-person in Athens, OH.
