The Shipping Supervisor will increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by overseeing the safe, accurate, and timely processing of outgoing shipments. This role directly manages the shipping team and ensures all orders are correctly staged, packed, and dispatched in alignment with company standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate thrives in a “team first” environment and has a passion for customer service. 



*This is a 2nd shift position. Hours are Monday - Friday 12:30pm to 9pm*



Responsibilities and Duties:

Shipping Operations

  • Supervise daily shipping activities, including order staging, packing, and truck loading
  • Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against customer orders and packing slips
  • Maintain a clean, organized shipping area to support efficiency and safety
  • Ensure outgoing shipments are properly labeled and documented
  • Coordinate with delivery drivers and third-party carriers to ensure on-time dispatch

Team Supervision

  • Lead, train, and support the shipping team by assigning tasks and monitoring performance
  • Reinforce company procedures, safety standards, and best practices
  • Promote a team-first and safety-conscious work environment
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or priorities as needed to meet deadlines

Cross Department Communication

  • Communicate with sales, counter staff, and warehouse management to resolve order issues
  • Notify appropriate teams of back-orders, shipment delays, or product shortages
  • Support inventory control efforts by reporting discrepancies and damaged products

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  •  High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Available to consistently work 12:30 PM–9:00 PM
  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, or order fulfillment experience
  • Previous leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Experience leading, training, or supervising warehouse employees
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse operations, including order picking, shipping, receiving, loading/unloading, inventory, or material handling
  • Basic computer proficiency, including ERP/WMS systems, shipping software, inventory systems, or email


Preferred Experience

  

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a warehouse, shipping, or distribution environment
  • Experience as a hands-on/working supervisor, actively supporting warehouse operations alongside the team
  • Experience overseeing order picking, staging, packing, shipping, and truck loading
  • Experience assigning daily workloads, monitoring productivity, training employees, and providing performance feedback
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, order accuracy, and discrepancy resolution
  • Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems, shipping platforms, freight carriers, LTL shipments, and/or delivery coordination
  • Experience in wholesale distribution, plumbing/HVAC/electrical supply, building materials, industrial supply, construction supply, or a similar environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, physically active warehouse environment
