Description
Summary: Performs maintenance and repairs on New Vision vehicles, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical problems in equipment, and maintains a clean and organized work area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports New Vision Co-op’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
- Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
- Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on New Vision vehicles according to OSHA and New Vision safety standards.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical problems in equipment with new or remanufactured parts.
- Inspects and tests equipment and maintains fleet in DOT compliant condition.
- Keeps all work areas clean and organized.
- Coordinates equipment downtime with Supervisor.
- Completes and archives paperwork as required by Supervisor.
- Reports major repairs and abuse of equipment to Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year formal training in diesel mechanics or 1 year experience as a diesel mechanic; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Commercial Vehicle Inspector Certification preferred.
- Must have demonstrable mechanical skills.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Valid Class D. Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and health card certification preferred. No moving violations for one year. No DUI violations for five (5) years.
