SUMMARY

The Large Format Zund Operator is responsible for operating Zund digital cutting equipment to produce high-quality finished products that meet customer specifications and Hatteras Press quality standards. This position is responsible for machine setup, production, quality inspections, routine maintenance, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment while meeting production schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

• Operate Zund digital cutting equipment to cut, route, crease, score, and finish a variety of printed materials.
• Review job tickets and production files to ensure jobs are produced accurately and efficiently.
• Select the appropriate tooling and machine settings based on material and job requirements.
• Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections to verify dimensions, cut quality, and finished appearance.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Complete routine cleaning and preventative maintenance and report equipment issues promptly.
• Minimize material waste while maintaining production efficiency.
• Accurately complete production documentation and communicate job status with supervisors.
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with other production and finishing duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role or Large Format department. 
• Computer experience preferred.
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
