Description

A Government Insuring Specialist is responsible for ensuring FHA, VA, and USDA mortgage loans meet agency requirements and are properly insured or guaranteed after closing. This role reviews closed loan files, submits insurance packages to government agencies, resolves deficiencies, and ensures compliance with investor and agency guidelines. 

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review closed mortgage loan files for accuracy and compliance with FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines. 
  • Prepare and submit insuring packages and case binders within required agency timelines. 
  • Process FHA Mortgage Insurance Certificates (MIC), VA Loan Guaranty Certificates (LGC), USDA guarantees
  • Utilize agency systems including FHA Connection, VA WebLGY, and USDA platforms. 
  • Audit final closing documents for completeness and regulatory compliance. 
  • Resolve insuring suspensions, rejected submissions, and post-endorsement deficiencies. 
  • Monitor aging pipelines and follow up on outstanding conditions or documentation. 
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for audits, QC reviews, and investor requirements. 
  • Coordinate with post-closing, underwriting, closing, servicing, and title departments to resolve issues. 
  • Stay current on HUD, VA, USDA, Ginnie Mae, and investor guideline changes. 
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance. 
  • Meet departmental productivity, quality, and turnaround time standards. 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • 1-3+ years of mortgage post-closing or government-insuring experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, HUD, and agency guidelines. 
  • Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS). 
  • Familiarity with FHA Connection, VA WebLGY, and USDA systems. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume environment. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Skills 
  • Knowledge of MERS, collateral, trailing documents, and shipping processes. 
  • Experience handling post-endorsement corrections and audit responses. 
  • Ability to analyze complex documentation and resolve discrepancies independently. 
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities. 
Salary Description
$20-25 per hour
