Experienced X-Ray Technician / Clinical Medical Assistant

Position Summary

Northern Oklahoma Family Care & Pharmacy is seeking an experienced, patient-focused X-Ray Technician who is cross-trained and willing to assist in multiple clinical areas. This position combines radiologic imaging responsibilities with direct patient care duties, including medical assisting, laboratory procedures, and IV therapy. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and committed to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Radiology Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and regulations.
  • Prepare imaging equipment and ensure proper operation and maintenance.
  • Accurately document procedures and maintain imaging records.
  • Assist providers with interpretation support and image transmission as needed.

Clinical and Medical Assistant Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer injections and medications as ordered and within scope of practice.
  • Perform IV starts, IV therapy, and specimen collection.
  • Conduct EKGs and other diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Assist with patient education and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies.

Laboratory Responsibilities

  • Collect and process blood, urine, and other specimens.
  • Perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing.
  • Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and documentation.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and quality control standards.
  • Communicate laboratory results to providers promptly.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic safety policies.
  • Assist with front office and administrative duties as needed.
  • Support clinic workflow and collaborate effectively with providers and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current ARRT certification and/or state-required radiologic technologist credentials.
  • Minimum of 2 years of X-ray experience in a clinical, urgent care, or family practice setting.
  • Experience performing IV starts and venipuncture.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and specimen collection.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred

  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
  • Urgent care, family practice, or occupational medicine experience.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Experience performing EKGs and point-of-care testing.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move patients and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient for clinical procedures and computer documentation.
