Description

Job Summary:

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will be a key strategic leader responsible for both forward-looking financial health and the operational integrity of the company's finances. This role encompasses leadership of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic fiscal initiatives specific to the eDiscovery and LegalTech industry. 


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the comprehensive annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range strategic financial planning process, ensuring alignment with the company's growth and service delivery goals. 
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models (e.g., driver-based models, scenario planning, project profitability) to support strategic decision-making, capital investments, and pricing strategies for eDiscovery services. 
  • Conduct financial analysis of key eDiscovery metrics, including MRR/ARR, utilization rates, Cost of Revenue (COR) for data hosting and processing, and Gross Margin by service line (e.g., Managed Review, Forensic Collections).
  • Provide strategic financial partnership and counsel to department heads, especially in Technology/R&D, Sales, and Operations, to optimize resource allocation and drive operational efficiency. 
  • Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, GAAP, and state/federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with accounting functions (General Ledger, A/P, A/R, Payroll) to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. 
  • Oversees capital assets projects and expenditures, ensuring organizational goals and budgetary limits are being met. 
  • Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies; ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing. 
  • Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares necessary financial reports, board presentations, and governmental filings as requested. 
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Advanced Education a Plus 
  • CPA designation is highly preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years of management experience in FP&A. Experience in eDiscovery, Legal Technology, Professional Services, or similar environment strongly desired. 
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring both strategic planning (FP&A) and financial control/accounting oversight
  • Experience within the LegalTech, SaaS, or eDiscovery/Professional Services industry is a significant advantage. 
  • Working knowledge of applicable financial practices and procedures (GAAP/IFRS), as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations. 
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and standard office and accounting equipment.
  • Excellent managerial skills and ability to evaluate and develop the work of others. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal teams and executive audiences. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
