Position Summary:

To provide exceptional, high-quality service and direct the delivery of products/services through sales efforts through face to face and drive through services. Must be a team player with a can-do-attitude, display a high level of integrity, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. They must have an excellent record of providing outstanding membership while meeting sales and operational goals.


Essential Function & Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Bank Teller will complete deposits, withdrawals, and other financial interactions while providing excellent customer service to all customers. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Perform routine member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, money orders, disbursements, and check cashing and all other teller duties. 
  • Explain, promote, and cross sell the products and services the Credit Union offers. 
  • Know and understand the policies and procedures of the Credit Union and able to explain them to the members. 
  • Balance cash drawer, coin, currency and checks to source documents and the Reliance totals at the end of each shift.  
  • Cashes checks and disburses funds after verifying signatures and sufficiency of funds to support withdrawals.
  • Accepts deposits, confirming accuracy of transaction.
  • Evaluates checks to verify endorsements, dates, identification of persons receiving payments, bank names, and overall legality of the documents.
  • Maintains a work area that ensures the safety of all negotiables and confidential records.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures.  
  • Be proficient in using the Symitar system. 
  • Load and unload cash recycler and ATM's (in the Credit Union).  
  • Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability to determine what, if any, hold is needed.  
  • Respond to members’ requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.  
  • Receive information pertaining to member's accounts and route to proper person. Give professional, friendly, accurate service to all members.  
  • Follow teller Standards with all members
  • Train new hires to perform proper teller duties as listed as above when needed
  • Serve as an example and a back-up to the teller trainer to ensure all new hires are properly trained
  • Provide SPARK! Member service, have strong communication skills (verbal and written) and be able to find solutions to difficult problems.
  • Enforces compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements, and should request legal interpretation as necessary to identify compliance concerns.
  • All employees adhere to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and internal compliance with standard polices relevant to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications and Education:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adhere to internal policies as well as external policies and regulations set forth by the NCUA
  • Be adaptable to change and embrace SPARK! service standards
  • Excellent oral communication skills 
  • Must be out of probationary period to apply 
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalency or higher
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and relevant systems
  • Must be bondable.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to learn our products and services and identify in what circumstances they can cross- sell our products and services to our members on a consistent basis
  • Must have at least a $2,500 approval limit or higher
  • Must be flexible, adapt to change, solve problems and be multi- task oriented.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and exhibit a professional demeanor throughout every transaction.
  • Must have good computer skills and be detail oriented and thorough on paperwork.
  • Must be able to operate customary office machines such as photocopier, fax, and phone system.
  • Must have great over/short track record.  
  • Being able to perform back up duties to the assistant is a plus but not required
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  
  • Ability to define problems and seek solutions for members
  • Represents FPCU with professionalism and purpose, communicating with members through respectful and solution-focused verbal and written communications that support a member-focused experience.
  • Engages in effective interpersonal communication, diplomacy, and collaboration skills to develop productive relationships, encourage cooperation, and support positive member and employee experiences. Maintains compliance with all applicable policies, demonstrating integrity, respect, and accountability while handling sensitive information and complying with FPCU policies, regulatory expectations, and confidentiality requirements.

$19.00-$21.00/hr.
