Description
DataField is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for a variety of parking systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and experience working independently in the field. The Field Service Technician will serve as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring equipment is operating properly while delivering professional and responsive service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- System Diagnostics & Repair: Perform on-site service, maintenance, and troubleshooting for parking and access control hardware, mechanical devices, and software systems.
- Installation Support: Assist with state-of-the-art system installations as needed, including equipment bolt-down, wiring termination, establishing host communications, and configuring/testing under the direction of a Project Manager.
- Technical Support: Provide software, hardware, and network support for clients, as well as peer support for other field service technicians.
- Field Administration: Provide customers with honest, professional recommendations, complete accurate service reports/work orders, and maintain a clean, organized company vehicle.
Requirements
Core Requirements & Technical Skills
- IT & Networking: Strong PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, networking, and SQL Server database maintenance.
- Hardware Proficiency: Ability to safely use hand and power tools, perform basic low-voltage wiring, and work on proprietary software (SAWin preferred), hardware communications, and programming.
- Customer Engagement: Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interface with customers, dispatch personnel, and internal teams.
- Autonomy: High organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage field assignments with a strong sense of urgency.
Education, Certifications & Preferred Experience
- Education: Electronics technical school training (or equivalent professional experience) is required.
- Compliance: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Bonus/Preferred Qualifications: MS Network Certification, MS A+ Certification, or previous experience with CCTV, video surveillance, parking/access control or IT systems.

Salary Description
$28 - $34 per hour
