Position Summary


The eClinicalWorks (eCW) Clinical EHR Trainer is responsible for delivering end-user training and supporting healthcare organizations in the effective use of the eClinicalWorks system.


This role provides role-based training to providers, nurses, medical assistants, and front-office staff, with a focus on system functionality, standard workflows, and user adoption. The trainer may also assist with basic workflow review and identify opportunities for improved system use under the guidance of project leadership.


The ideal candidate has experience using eClinicalWorks, a solid understanding of clinical workflows, and strong communication and presentation skills.


Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver remote and onsite eClinicalWorks training for providers, clinical staff, administrative users, and leadership teams.
  • Conduct workflow discovery sessions and assess current-state clinical operations.
  • Develop recommendations for workflow improvements and EHR optimization.
  • Configure and support templates, order sets, structured data, alerts, and clinical documentation workflows.
  • Facilitate training sessions and optimization workshops.
  • Create training materials, quick reference guides, and workflow documentation.
  • Support EHR implementations, upgrades, go-lives, and post-go-live optimization efforts.
  • Assist clients with adoption of new eCW functionality and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and technical teams to ensure project success.
  • Build strong client relationships through exceptional customer service and subject matter expertise.
  • Document consulting activities, findings, recommendations, and project deliverables.

Key Skills and Experience

Must Have

  • Deliver remote and onsite eClinicalWorks training for providers, clinical staff, administrative users, and leadership teams. 
  • Provide role-based instruction on eCW functionality and standard workflows. 
  • Assist with basic workflow review and communicate training needs or concerns to project leadership. 
  • Support users with templates, order sets, structured data, alerts, and clinical documentation workflows. 
  • Facilitate end-user training sessions, refresher training, and system demonstrations. 
  • Create and update training materials, quick-reference guides, and workflow documentation. 
  • Support EHR implementations, upgrades, go-lives, and post-go-live training activities. 
  • Help users understand and adopt new eCW functionality and recommended practices. 
  • Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and technical teams to complete assigned training activities. 
  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to clients. 
  • Document training activities, attendance, user feedback, and follow-up needs.

Preferred

  • Experience with EHR implementations and go-live support.
  • FQHC and Community Health Center experience.
  • Quality reporting, Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs), UDS, or value-based care experience.
  • Knowledge of healow products and patient engagement tools.

Experience

  • 2+ years of eClinicalWorks experience required.
  • 2+ years of healthcare training, consulting, or clinical operations experience preferred.
  • Experience working in community health centers or ambulatory healthcare settings preferred.
  • Clinical background (MA, LVN, RN, Practice Management, or equivalent healthcare experience) preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time 
  • Day Shift (8am -5pm PST)
  • Primarily remote, with local travel for onsite training and go-live support in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
  • Occasional out-of-area or overnight travel may be required based on project needs.

Requirements

  • English Fluency (Required)
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation (Required)
  • 2+ Years of eClinicalWorks Experience (Required)
  • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Los Angeles and be available for onsite assignments throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
  • Experience Delivering End-User Training (Required)
  • Ability to travel outside the local area, including overnight travel, up to 10% annually based on project needs.
