Dental Assistant - Pediatric Dental Practice
We are seeking an experienced, friendly, and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our growing pediatric dental practice. Key Responsibilities
- Perform coronal polishing on pediatric patients in accordance with Arizona scope-of-practice requirements and office protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure they are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Assist the dentist and hygienist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Welcome and help children feel at ease throughout their visit by creating a fun, positive experience.
- Take digital dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations.
- Provide patient and parent education on oral hygiene, home care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Accurately document patient treatment and update clinical records.
- Assist with charting, scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinating with the front office as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the entire dental team to provide outstanding patient care and maintain an efficient workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Arizona Dental Assistant Coronal Polishing Certification (DANB/AZCP)
- DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, patient, and compassionate demeanor with a passion for working with children
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and uphold OSHA and HIPAA standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric dental assisting experience
- Experience using Open Dental practice management software
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
