Dental Assistant - Pediatric Dental Practice


We are seeking an experienced, friendly, and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our growing pediatric dental practice. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform coronal polishing on pediatric patients in accordance with Arizona scope-of-practice requirements and office protocols. 
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure they are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Assist the dentist and hygienist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Welcome and help children feel at ease throughout their visit by creating a fun, positive experience.
  • Take digital dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations.
  • Provide patient and parent education on oral hygiene, home care, and post-treatment instructions.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Accurately document patient treatment and update clinical records.
  • Assist with charting, scheduling follow-up appointments, and coordinating with the front office as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the entire dental team to provide outstanding patient care and maintain an efficient workflow.


Requirements

 Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Arizona Dental Assistant Coronal Polishing Certification (DANB/AZCP)
  • DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) certification 
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, patient, and compassionate demeanor with a passion for working with children
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and uphold OSHA and HIPAA standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric dental assisting experience
  • Experience using Open Dental practice management software
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Salary Description
$19-$24/hr
