We are looking to hire a creative and enthusiastic culinary support staff member to join our team at the Spring House located in the Kiawah River Community on Johns Island. 


The culinary support role is responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, and ensuring all dishes, cookware, and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. This position plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with food production, maintaining sanitation standards, and providing dishwashing support during service periods.


Work Hours: Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, depending on clubhouse events and peak times.

Requirements

Culinary Support Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, cutting, portioning, and organizing product 
  • Assist with cooking and preparing menu items according to recipes and specifications 
  • Set up, stock, and maintain prep stations and kitchen supplies 
  • Operate dish machine and wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and equipment 
  • Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and handled according to food safety standards 
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, kitchen equipment, coolers, and storage areas 
  • Dry, organize, and properly store clean dishes and equipment 
  • Sweep, mop, remove trash, and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness 
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure efficient operations

Skills, Experience and Education

  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a clubhouse restaurant, or similar venue.
  • 2. ServSafe food handler certification preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, utensils, and safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and preparation instructions.
  • Ability to safely use knives and food preparation equipment.
  • Strong understanding of cleanliness and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Description
$17 to $21 per hour
