Requirements

 VMG Health is seeking a Director to join its Partnerships, Mergers & Acquisitions (PM&A) practice within the Strategy & Partnership Advisory business unit. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a senior client-facing leadership role for an experienced healthcare advisor with a successful track record leading complex strategic transactions and developing enduring executive relationships. 


The Director serves as a trusted advisor to health systems, physician organizations, academic medical centers, private equity investors, and other healthcare stakeholders as they evaluate strategic growth opportunities through partnerships, affiliations, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and related transactions. Balancing executive advisory, engagement leadership, and business development responsibilities, this individual will lead multidisciplinary consulting teams, cultivate new client relationships, and help shape the continued growth and market presence of one of VMG Health's fastest-growing advisory practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a personal business development strategy that generates new client relationships, repeat engagements, and referrals.
  • Partner with VMG leaders to expand existing accounts and introduce multidisciplinary advisory services.
  • Lead healthcare partnership, M&A, affiliation, joint venture, physician alignment, and investor transaction engagements from strategy through close.
  • Advise executive leadership and governing boards on strategic alternatives, governance, transaction readiness, financial implications, and implementation considerations.
  • Oversee financial models, market analyses, valuation inputs, diligence coordination, negotiations, and post-close planning.
  • Serve as the executive engagement leader responsible for quality, profitability, client satisfaction, and successful outcomes.
  • Mentor consultants and managers while helping recruit, develop, and retain top consulting talent.
  • Contribute to practice strategy, intellectual capital, thought leadership, and new service development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare consulting, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, or healthcare strategy experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex healthcare transactions and advising executive leadership teams.
  • Proven business development experience with a history of originating and expanding consulting engagements.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex engagements while leading high-performing teams.
  • Willingness to travel based on client needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MHA, CPA, CFA, or similar credential.
  • Established network among healthcare executives, physician leaders, private equity firms, attorneys, and investment bankers.
  • Experience advising hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, ambulatory providers, and healthcare investors.
  • Knowledge of valuation, reimbursement, physician alignment, financial due diligence, and healthcare regulatory considerations.
