Summary:

The Compliance Administrator supports the Import/Export Compliance Department administrative activities to include helping to ensure that the operation remains up to date on all regulatory and licensing requirements in accordance with company, state, and federal regulations.  This position holds responsibility for interpreting, recommending, and assisting in the development of policies as well as resolving matters that involve contact with governmental agencies.  This position will also interpret regulations such as (International Traffic in Arms Regulations, US Customs, and Export Administration Regulations), review and evaluate transactions to process and release orders, complete required compliance documents, and vendor/visitor/freight forwarder/customer screening.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:  

• Review and evaluate transactions, customer purchase orders, shipping orders, end user certifications.

• Determines license requirements with various US Government entities

• Keep up to date with import/export regulations and apply them accordingly.

• Maintain and update department records such as Customs entries for parts arriving under ITAR exemption 123.4(a)(1) or EAR Exemption RPL 740.10, licensed and exemption shipments.

• Assist with audits and US Customs, as needed.

• Assist with and apply the appropriate Incoterms 

• Analyze, determine import, and export authorization for all shipments.

• Assist on the import clearance with customers, US Brokers, provide appropriate import documentation, and retrieve entry documents, as needed.

• Vetting of US Freight Forwarders, as needed.

• Understanding of the ACE automated system

Understanding of the Joint Certification system (JCP)

• Complete required compliance documents to include end user certificates and screening vendors, visitors, freight forwarders, and customers

Understand and use of Traction Guest website for visitors

• Classify goods using Schedule B numbers and U.S. Harmonized Tariff Incoterms 2020 

• Interpret regulations (International Traffic in Arms Regulations, US Customs, and Export Administration Regulations)

• Assist with organizing and preparing online annual regulatory training for all employees, as needed.

• Assist other departments to resolve licensing or domestic questions and/or issues.

• Assure compliance on all parts arriving due to purchases and returning after repair or overhaul.

• Maintain proper recordkeeping.

Attend Compliance meetings, as needed

Attend webinars (mostly online), as needed

• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

Education and Experience

• 2+ years of experience in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export administration Regulations (EAR), Incoterms, Import/Export clearance and US Customs experience, ACE automated system knowledge. (Preferred, not required)

• Possesses a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, TEAMS, Webex, and Outlook.

• Experience with design and the implementation of audit documents and procedures

• Strong work ethic, integrity, accountability, and sense of responsibility, with the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and follow through to completion. 

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a cross-functional team.

Technical Skills (preferred, not required)

· United States Export Compliance Certification (CUSECO) preferred

· Familiarity with Export Administration Regulations preferred

· Familiarity with Import Regulations preferred

Language Skills

· Fluent in English

· Bilingual preferred

· Frequently required to sit/stand/walk/talk/hear

· Office environment with some exposure to shop and warehouse
